The Hungarian National Assembly's commitment to strengthening parliamentary collaboration within the Visegrád Co-Operation has been unbroken since the establishment of the co-operation in 1991. There have been regular parliamentary contacts since the meeting of the Chairs of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committees of the Visegrád Group countries in 1998, as well as discussions among Speakers of Parliaments since the meeting of the Speakers of Parliaments held in 2003, in Budapest.

Committee-level meetings


​​​​​​​The Parliament of Poland, which holds the Presidency of the Visegrád Group from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025, organised the meeting of the Committees on Security and Defence of the Parliaments of the V4 countries between 27 – 28 October 2024 in Poznań. The event was hosted by Andrzej Grzyb, President of the National Defence Committee of the Polish Sejm, and by Mirosław Różański, President of the National Defence Committee of the Polish Senate. The Hungarian National Assembly was represented on the event by Mónika Bartos, Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The Parliament of Poland, which holds the presidency of the parliamentary cooperation of the Visegrád countries between July, 1 2024 and June, 30 2025, organizes a meeting for the Committees on Agriculture of the parliaments of the V4 countries between 14-15 November 2024 in Warsaw.

The Parliament of Poland, which holds the presidency of the parliamentary cooperation of the V4 between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, organizes an informal meeting for the Committees on Economics of the parliaments of the V4 countries on 13 November 2024 in Warsaw.

The Czech Parliament, which holds the Presidency of the Visegrád Group from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024, organized the meeting of the Speakers of Parliaments of the V4 countries and Ukraine in Prague on 28-29 February 2024. The event was hosted by Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Speaker of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, and Miloš Vystrčil, President of the Czech Senate. The Hungarian National Assembly was represented by Csaba Hende, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, the Slovak National Council by Peter Pellegrini, Speaker, while the Polish Parliament by Szymon Hołowni, Marshal of the Sejm and Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Marshal of the Senate.

Committee-level meetings


​​​​​​​The Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Czech Republic, which holds the Presidency of the Visegrád Group from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024, jointly organised a meeting for the Defence and Security Committees of the Parliaments of the Visegrád countries on 28- 29 April 2024 in Prague.

​​​​​​​The Committees on European Affairs of the Parliaments of the Visegrád countries met in Budapest between 16–18 April 2023. At the invitation of Richárd Hörcsik, Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs of the Hungarian National Assembly, all the relevant committees of the V4 Parliamentary Chambers were represented at the event. The meeting was attended by Zoltán Tessely, Balázs Barkóczi and Péter Balassa, Vice-Chairs and Boglárka Illés and Hajnalka Juhász, members of the host Committee, alongside the Chair of the Committee.



The Conference of Speakers of Parliaments of Southeast European Countries was organised by the Hungarian National Assembly on 24 September 2021 in Budapest for the tenth time since its creation in 2004. The conference organized every two years since 2005 has been serving as a forum for the exchange of information with the parliaments of Southeast European countries. This year's meeting was devoted to the possibilities of the Southeast European Countries in contributing to the forming of the future of the EU.



Delegations of the Committees on European Affairs of V4 countries met in Prague between 5-7 September 2021. The meeting was organised by the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic. The delegation from the Committee on European Affairs of the Hungarian National Assembly at the event, which had the Covid situation and the restoration after pandemic, furthermore the "Fit for 55” proposal package on its agenda, included Dr. Richárd Hörcsik, chairman, Zoltán Balczó, Deputy Chairman, and dr. Attila Tilki, Member of the Committee. The meeting was chaired by Ondřej Benešík, Chairman of the Committee on European Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic.
